Pushing The Hack

a 100-year-old retired New York City taxi driver discusses his life,

family, and working behind the wheel

Pushing the Hack represents conversations with my grandfather Al Abramson, a medallion owning taxi driver from 1928 to 1968 in New York City and Brooklyn. Born in 1908, he describes himself as a “Hustler and a Thief”, a driver doing whatever he needed to put bread on the table.

• Q&A about driving a taxi for 40 years in NYC
• Trivia, history and fun facts about NYC
• Living in the early 1900’s
• much, much more!
